PARIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks, we made it!!!!!!!!! after a long day of travel and a missed ferry which turned out to be a very wonderful thing.

Lets start off by telling you about the day yesterday!!!

It was our last day in London and we had planned in advance that Niki would head off to an art museum and Beth and I would hit Harrods for some shopping!!

Turns out we don't know London as well as we thought we did considering we both ended up getting lost in our treks!!!!

Beth and I ended up asking at least 6 people how to get to Harrods when it turns out we were just a 5 minute walk down the street from it!!!!

Anywho, we got there and it was definitely worth the walk around!!! Besides, when we were walking around London we were able to see the History Museum and it was INCREDIBLE!!!!!

I really wish we had buildings like that back in Edmonton...

Beth and I had a quick look around, drooled over some £2900 Valentino shoes, browsed through Oscar de la Renta's latest fashions, and then caught up with Niki somewhere between Women's fashions and the Candy shop!!

When we finally realized we couldn't handle breaking our hearts (and banks) by looking at the expensive shoes anymore, we headed back to Victoria Station, where we went our separate ways.

Beth went back to Kingston and Niki and I headed to Dover Priory!!

We ended up on a later train and after a ''15 minute walk'' which was really a 40 minute run to the docks, we found out we were too late to catch the last ferry.

Which would've been rather frustrating if it hadn't been for our lovely land lady at our quaint little hotel!!

We set up in the hotel room (the key to get in was one from probably 100 years ago haha) and headed out for some fish and chips and a pint!!

Best fish and chips EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after our lovely little dinner we hit the nearest pub (the white horse) and tested out a couple ales and lagers!!
Thanks to a local regular, the bartender let us try 4 different beers, with Niki choosing the darkest and me choosing the second lightest... obviously we have drastically different taste!!!
You know, when the manager of a hotel tells you the room is freezing and that she can give you extra blankets or a heater, TAKE THE OFFER!!!!!
It was SO cold in that hotel room!!! as much as it warmed the cockles of our hearts, it didn't quite reach our bones!!!! however, the landlady was so cute that we just didn't care!!!
This morning we got an early start so we could be on the first ferry to Calais!!
and thankfully, we caught this one.
So today we've been on a ferry from England to France, then a train from Calais to Paris, then the underground from the north station to where we are now, somewhere on the edge of the city...
But the best part of today was we finally saw the Eiffel Tower. Thats right. In person. WOOO!!!!!!
Niki made fun of me as I did my little happy dance for quite a while and also took about 15 pictures of the tower alone...
But hey, it's what I've been dreaming of for my whole life!!! So there you have it... One lifetime goal fulfilled. Feels pretty awesome.
So the plan now is ''early to bed, early to rise'' then we'll head to L'Arc de Triomphe tomorrow and look in all the designer shops, possibly hit the Moulin Rouge for a show, and hopefully see the Notre Dame!!!!!! Anyways, I'm almost out of time on my internet card here so I'll catch up soon!!!

Wish you were here!!!!!

Love you all <3

  1. I'm so happy for you that you are getting this chance to travel. I would love to see Europe. As I've said many times travel is the best education. I'm glad your learning how to find your way around. It sounds like your having a blast.

I've been working and missed your calls. I think this is the longest in years that I've gone without talking to you but we will connect at some point. Have a great time take it all in and enjoy the experience.
